SavvyPlays · 10 June 2026 · 108 matches · R1–R14

68-0. That is a number that will not be forgotten. Penrith scored 10 tries at CommBank Stadium on Saturday, never let the Tigers into the game, and recorded the largest winning margin in NRL history. The previous biggest margin was 66 points. Penrith cleared it with room to spare.

Elsewhere in R14, the Storm edged the Knights 32-30 in a game that came down to the last play, the Dolphins continued their unbeaten home form with a 40-14 demolition of the Cowboys, and the Bulldogs survived 14-12 against the Eels.

The Raiders were also shut out 26-0 by the Roosters in Canberra. At the other end of the scale, the Storm survived 32-30 against the Knights and the Bulldogs held on 14-12 against the Eels.

Panthers 68-0 Tigers — Largest Margin in NRL History

Penrith led 38-0 at half-time and ran in 10 tries. The previous largest NRL margin was 66 points. The Raiders were also shut out 26-0 by the Roosters — two scoreless teams in the same round has happened just twice in NRL history. The Panthers have now been involved in three of the four shutout wins in 2026.

Season to Date

04Team Standings — R1 to R14

108 matches completed through 14 rounds. The Panthers lead comfortably at 12-1 (6-0 at home, 6-1 away) with a +273 point differential — nearly 60 points clear of second-placed Warriors (+154). At the bottom, the Dragons are 1-12 with a -243 differential.

The Sharks' home/away split is stark: 6-2 at home but 1-3 away. The Cowboys are 8-6 with a negative differential (-13) — a warning sign that their winning record is built on narrow margins rather than genuine superiority.

Cowboys Ladder Warning

The Cowboys are 8-6 but their point differential is -13. They are winning games by very slim margins (3 clutch wins of 6 points or fewer) and losing big when they do lose. Their home/away record is evenly split (4-3, 4-3) but they are not a genuine top-four team based on scoring data. The Cowboys spend only 41% of game time in front — the worst of any winning team.

The table below shows how each team's wins are distributed — Clutch (won by 6 or fewer), Comfortable (7–12), and Cruise (13+). The Panthers have won 8 of 12 by cruise margin. The Cowboys and Raiders are heavy clutch-win teams — a fragile profile.

Panthers Game Control

The Panthers lead for 71.4% of their game time — more than three times the Eels (19.1%) and more than three times the Dragons (22.4%). They trail for only 12.7% of the time. In 108 matches this season, no team is even close to this level of scoreboard dominance.

Cowboys Paradox

The Cowboys are 8-6 but spend only 41.4% of game time in front — the worst of any winning team. They trail 42.5% of game time, meaning they are consistently coming from behind to win. This profile tends to correct itself: teams relying on clutch comebacks regress as the season progresses.

108
Matches Analysed (R1–R14)

Two of the most actionable in-game patterns in rugby league, measured across 108 completed matches in 2026. The team that scores the first Try wins 69% of the time — a useful live-betting signal. The team leading at half-time converts that lead to a win 78% of the time (excluding the 9 games that were tied at the break).

Takeaway for live betting: the combination of first try + halftime lead is a strong signal. In 2026, teams that scored first AND led at half have won at a significantly higher rate than either signal alone.

Season Records

08Shutouts in 2026: 4

Four shutouts through 14 rounds — two of them in Round 14 alone. The Panthers have been the shutout team in three of the four; the fourth was a Cowboys demolition of the cellar-dwelling Dragons in Round 5.

Penrith have shut out opponents in R1 (Broncos 0-26), R14 (Tigers 0-68). They also held the Tigers to 0 again in R14 for the biggest shutout in NRL history. Two shutouts in a single round (R14) is extremely rare — this is the first time it has happened since 2009.

09Biggest Winning Margins — Top 10

The season's ten largest winning margins through Round 14. The Panthers' 68-0 win tops the list and stands as the largest margin in NRL history. Seven of the top-10 margins involve either the Panthers, Storm, Roosters, or Sharks — all teams finishing in the top half of the ladder.
